Daniel marquez
Advanced Pitching Specialist for Elite Athletes
Growing up in the Tri-Cities, I started playing with the Cambridge Cubs and later advanced to the Waterloo Tigers, where I first learned the fundamentals of the game. I quickly realized how much I loved the sport, dedicating myself to improvement with every practice and game. My commitment, paired with a deep love for the game, led me to the Ontario Nationals, where I had the incredible opportunity to represent Canada on the Junior National Team in 2013— a highlight and a defining point that fueled my desire to continue pursuing a professional career in baseball.
My dream of playing professionally became clearer and I was fortunate to be a draft prospect for the Oakland A’s, and that opportunity opened the door to the Great Lake Canadians’ inaugural program. This experience sharpened my skills on the field and played a pivotal role in securing a scholarship to the University of Evansville (D1). There, I gained critical high-level experience that helped shape my understanding of the game both mentally and physically. Returning to Canada, I played for Humber College and the University of Waterloo. I learned to adapt to different playing styles, embrace teamwork, and take on the responsibility of guiding younger players while improving my own performance.
Over the past decade, I’ve been fully committed to my professional baseball journey. This pursuit led to invitations to Mexico’s AAA league, as well as tryouts with two of the most storied teams in Major League Baseball—the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets. These opportunities allowed me to gain firsthand experience across various playing styles and levels of competition, further expanding my knowledge and improving my game.
I believe that baseball, like life, is about constant improvement. As a coach, my goal is to instill the same discipline, resilience, and love for the game that have guided me throughout my journey. I am dedicated to providing each player with the tools they need to reach their full potential, both on and off the field.
